Volunteers are very important to help socialize pets and get them ready for their new homes.

About Us & How to Volunteer
We are a small community with big hearts!  We have a population of about 7000.  Our Animal Shelter is small but gets the job done.  We have 12 inside animal kennels and 2 large roll-away kennels for cats.  The number of animals that we help varies day to day.  One day our shelter will be empty and the next full.  We have a large outside pen where all the dogs can enjoy a little "run-around" time each day. We like the dogs to get outside as this helps with learning and keeping them potty trained.  We are always looking for Volunteers to walk dogs, let them out to potty and other tasks. If you are interested please fill out an application and return it to the Shelter or call Sue at 298-8235.
Volunteers are always welcome.

If you have time and would like to help out, come see us.

Any amount of time is ok, from everyday to once a week or month.

Kids under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, print the application, fill it out and return it to:

Plattsmouth Animal Control Officer Sue Baker came to the Plattsmouth Police Department in December 2008.  Sue brings years of experience with her as an Animal Control Officer and a Cruelty Investigator.  She really enjoys working with owners, the public and their pets to help ease problem areas and to resolve their issues with animals.

The Public is encouraged to contact Sue with any Animal Control issues that they may have.
