Animal Talk

Animal Talk is a page where the animals that are currently at the shelter can go online and talk about themselves and their thoughts. It is also where former animals from the shelter can go and talk as well. Photo of the day is where we put a photo of a current animal in the shelter, or photo from people who've adopted animals from our shelter.

Photo of the day:
There will be no photo of the day today. Instead there will be a commentary from one of the animals that was here when the 29 cats from Wabash came in.

I am sad today.
I saw something yesterday.
I didn't like it.
There were sick cats.
A lot of sick cats and kittens.
They didn't know why they were here.
They knew their owner loved them,
      but wondered why they were so sick.
They told me that they just wanted to
      rest.
Then some people came in.
I've seen them before.
They give out love, hugs, and kisses.
They also give food and treats.
I love them.
There was another person here too.
I didn't know that person, but they
      had some needles and medicine.
The people that are normally here
      started taking them out of the cages.
They gave them lots of hugs and love.
I never saw them come back to their
      cage.
I did see the people crying.
I also heard them say,"All of this could
     have been avoided!"
One of the people picked me up and
     held me for a long time, and cried.
I tried to make her feel better by giving
      her lots of kisses, and snuggling.
She looked at me and said,"We saved
      6 of them Oliver!" "I just wish we
     could have done more!"
I am sad today.

I was running, and playing. I don't know exactly what I did, but all of a sudden my leg hurt really bad. I looked down to discover that I had broken my left foreleg. Mommy came home and found me. She took me to the shelter and Sue called the animal hospital in Omaha. Mommy took me there, and now I have a cast that weighs more than I do.

Okay, so I got under the Christmas tree. So, what are you going to do about it?

What a great life I have now. My mommy came to the shelter and picked me! Can you imagine how excited I was? I have my forever home! I have two sister cats, and two brother cats. Unfortunately, I have two brother dogs. I guess they're okay. Anyway, I wanted to thank Sue for letting my mommy adopt me. Thanks Sue!

Shep says, "This new Animal Talk is cool BUT I want to add that I think I need a new mommy for Christmas. I got a bunch of really neat toys that I tore up in seconds but then for the New Years all I got was a bath then my girlfriend Mara got one too, so I want a new Mommy. I didn't think that was a great New Year's gift."

So all in all Thanks Aunt Sue and find me a new Mommy!
